Consolidated Fiscal Reporting System (CFRS)
Administrative and Required User Privileges
In order to install or upgrade the CFRS software, on a PC running Windows XP Pro, 2000 and NT4, you are required to be an administrator on the computer, having full administrative privileges. The reason why the CFRS installation process requires that a user have administrative privileges is because the installation accesses the Windows registry and Windows System folders. Because these advanced rights can allow a user to accidentally damage or disrupt the operation of their systems, they are normally reserved for MIS or training systems and support personnel.
If you are trying to install software on a computer in a corporate or networked environment, using Windows XP Pro, 2000 or NT4, you will need to contact your system administrator to temporarily assign you appropriate administrative level privileges for your computer, if you do not already have them. If the system administrator is unable to grant you administrative privileges, for whatever reason or policy, you will need to request that your system administrator install the software for you, using their Administrative privilege rights. These rights are not required to run the software, once it is properly installed.
Verifying your account permissions
If you are running your installation on a Windows XP Pro, 2000 or NT4, you will need to confirm that you are the administrator of your computer.
Follow these steps to confirm that you have administrative rights on your computer:
- Select Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
- In the Computer Management dialog, click on System Tools > Local Users and Groups > Users.
- Right-click on your user name and select Properties.
- In the properties dialog, select the Member Of tab and make sure it states "Administrator".

Note: If a user running the software does not have sufficient User Rights or Privileges, they may get repeated "Installing…… " messages and possibly an error message indicating that the "msi source cannot be found" or "Unexpected Error, Quitting"
