About Manhattan Psychiatric Center (MPC)
- Manhattan Psychiatric Center offers a range of comprehensive, evidence based inpatient and outpatient treatments for adults with mental illness. Families/Significant other(s) are involved as appropriate and with the permission of the consumer. MPC’s overall aim is to assess all patients with a multi-disciplinary approach, to develop personalized treatment plans with the aim of active rehabilitation and rapid return to or to optimal functioning in the community. MPC is also a major training facility for psychiatric residents, medical students, psychology interns and externs, social work externs and nursing students.
- Community Services
Services include a Licensed Adult Outpatient Mental Health Clinic; two Intensive Case Management (ICM) programs; a Bridger/Case Management program; Service for the Treatment and Abatement of Interpersonal Risk (STAIR) follow up program: and, a Family Care program. - Graduate Education Programs
The Department of Psychology at Manhattan Psychiatric center offers a one year, full-time, American Psychiatric Association (APA) accredited internship program for students completing their doctoral degrees in Psychology. The Department of Psychiatry is affiliated with New York University School of Medicine and its Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited Psychiatry Residency Program for Residents rotating at MPC. The Department of Psychology at Manhattan Psychiatric center offers a one year, full-time, American Psychiatric Association APA accredited internship program for students completing their doctoral degrees in Psychology. - Inpatient Services

Both inpatient services and the mental health clinic at 125th Street are accredited by the Joint Commission. Any member of the public who has concerns about the safety or quality of care provided in the hospital or at the clinic may report these concerns to The Joint Commission.
