Changing Our Service Culture: Walking in the Steps of Giants

The experience of the PARS providers has taught us that to effect the culture change necessary to reduce the use of restraint and seclusion means making major changes at all levels of an organization. Such changes require a major commitment over several years. Full implementation of the change process does not occur right away. Providers beginning the journey of culture change can expect periods of forward movement and periods of retreat. Once all staff buy into the Six Core Strategies, the organization’s culture begins to change.

This third component of the toolkit is a PowerPoint that summarizes principles and actions that are essential for true culture change.
