Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Service Program (MHOTRS) School-Based Mental Health Services for Children/Youth

The demand for children’s mental health services is on the rise, making school-based mental health programming a priority for New York State (NYS). Treating children/youth in the school environment can:

  • support equitable and timely access to resources.
  • promote coordinated care.
  • help to minimize stigma.

The NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) is providing one-time start-up funding of up to $45,000 for OMH providers to create new school-based mental health clinic satellites and to support recently established school-based mental health clinic satellites.
